For the Party, we asked friends to bring donations of socks instead of gifts for Caroline. Carolie was so sweet, anytim someone asked her what she wanted for her birhtday, she said "No gift, just socks for people who don't have socks." We collected SO MANY socks and Caroline was very excited to take them to church and donate the To Mobile Loaves and Fishes, a minitsry that serves the homelsess in Ausitn.
Despite our request, lots of our friends still brought gifts. And of course, the grandparetns deemd themselves exempt from the "no gift" policy ;)
She got a bike, and lots of dress up clothes! Miles also got a Rangers hat :)
We surprised her before church on the morning of her birthday (which was the day after her party)....

with a bounce house! While she looks excited and surprised in these pics, I think she was actually a little tired, overwhelemd, and maybe even a little disappointed...ha ha! She was really not as enthusiastic as I had expected (and hoped)...oh well. It was a great craigslist find, so it ok ;)
The afternoon of her birthday, our power went out. It got hot in the house pretty quickly, so we opted to head out for dinner with our neighbors! Caroline was thrilled to hang out with Jack, as usual, so it was a perfect way to celebrate :)
She chose Chili's, and the waiters all sang happy birthday to her...it was cute.
A wild and crazy end to a wild and crazy weekend!
