McGee Famliy Weekend

We had our Annual McGee Family Reunion at Lake Kiowa over the weekend.

It was so much fun to see everyone and to realx and let the kids play :)

The guys (my dad, Jon, and my 3 bros) played golf Saturday morning, so the girls (Sherri, myself, Caroline, and Paul's girlsfriend, Jen) plus Miles, shopped the headed to the playground!

Later that afternoon, we set out on our fishing expedition. After last years, disappointing outcome, Jon and my dad were determined to help Caroling catch a fish.

Miss Jen and Uncy Paul opted to watch :)

So did Uncy Brian, although he eventually got in on the action :)

And Uncy Justin was also along for the ride!

SUCCESS!!!! Caroline caught her first fish!!! She was so excited and not at all scared of it. SHe loved touching it, and even threw it back in all by herself...

Minnie took some cute pics of Mr. M, just chillin in the grass :)

Who knows what she is telling me about...probably bossing me around ;)

Miles 13 months!

Miles officially turned 13 months while we were in Mexico :)

Unfortunately, This is going to be the WORST monthly update ever :( I don't really have many pics (other than the ones I have already posted) And since I am writing this so far after the fact, I can't remember exactly what he was or wasn't doing exactly at 13 months...Poor Miles. Such is the life of the 2nd kiddo I suppose...

A few things I know for sure. HE is the cutest, sweetest, most lovable little guy ever. Really, he is.

At 13 months, he is walking everywhere, and getting faster by the second. He rarely crawls anymore at all.

He knows when you are asking a question, that you expect an answer, so he gives you one. It's always "No." He usually, just shakes his head, but he also says "no" sometimes. It's so funny to us :)

His favorite book is Brown Bear, Brown Bear, and his favorite song is Patty Cake. He will do all of the motions, with a huge grin on his face the whole time. And If Caroline sings it with him? He will practically bust out of his skin with excitement! So cute.

He is a BOTTOMLESS PIT. I am sure I have mentioned it before, but I have to say it again... This kid can eat. And eat. And eat. He eats more than Caroline. He is just always hungry! And not at all picky...thank goodness.

So far, his favorite words are still Daddy and doggie (of course), but he does actually say Mama! Woohoo! He also says: No, Milk, Snack, and Banana (Nana)

Camp Mimi and (Big) Papa

The next half of the week, the Kiddos bunked up with my mom and Alan (Mimi and Papa). Of course, there was never a dull moment at their house either. Making cookies, playing outside, and the traditional trip to ride the carousel!

Caroline spent the day running errands with Papa. She loved being his "little assistant"

Making cookies! I love the way Miles is elbowing his way in there...you go, little guy!!!

No fancy water table? Just improvise with a bowl of water...trust me, they don't know the difference ;)

Jammie time

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you Mimi, Papa, Uncle Paul, GGma, and GGpa!

We are so blessed to have so many people to help care for our little ones while we were away!!!

Camp Minnie and (Little) Papa

While we were in Mexico, Caroline and Miles spent the first half of the week with Sherri and my dad (Minnie and Papa). Minnie kept them very busy! They went to the Science Place, the Zoo, the park, and lots more I'm sure...

Here are a few pics:

Somebody loves feeding the giraffes!

Hilarious...I can only imagine what was going thru Caroline's mind.

Minnie and Miles

Ha! 2 little monkeys!!!

Apparently Caroline is navigating...I am sure she was super-helpful :)

sweet bear

I love this pic. She looks so grown up...and so totally worn out ;)

Love the way Miles is looking at his Uncle Justin...so sweet!

Minnie got terribly sick the last day the kiddos were there :( Luckily, Uncle Brian was there to take over! I think he got Miles hooked on the iPad ;)

Seriously, how cute is that??

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you to Minnie, Papa, Uncle Brian, and Uncle Justin!!!!!

I just found more cute pics on my phone! Had to share :)

Viva Cozumel!

After a fun-filled Memorial Day weekend, we headed to Dallas dropped off the kiddos, and set off for MEXICO!!! We were so excited to have a whole week...6 nights....7days....to do whatever we wanted :) And celebrate Halston and Abel's special day, too!!! Again, the pics are out of order...sorry.

The whole gang at the wedding. It was soooo beautiful. the ceremony was on the beach at sunset!

Brooke and Richard, Me and Jon, Jamie and Oliver, Kristin and Jared, and the bride and groom

They had a bar with swings at our resort. It was so random, yet very fun :)

Halston and I

It rained our last day there, so we went into town to shop and explore. We stopped at this tequila factory, where we did tequila tastings and of course played the classic...tequila pong. Think beer pong, but with tequila...in a fountain.

Us at the wedding :)

Kristin and I lounging on the beach. It was so awesome to relax and not have to think of anything. Really, my biggest "stresses" were whether to lay by the beach or the pool and whether to order a pina colada before lunch or after ;)

Us again :)

The group again :)

Me and Kristin again :)

Jon playing with the fans at the wedding. People kept telling hm he reminded them of "Cam" from Modern Family...How hilarious is that?!?! Its weird, because its kinda true...

They had a real monkey at the ceremony!!! SO cute!!!

The guys at the beach

Us AGAIN!

It was an AMAZING trip. We sailed and snorkeled (neither of which i got pics of) and read (3 books for me :)) and just relaxed!!! Wonderful!!

Big thanks to Minnie, Mimi, and gang for keeping the kiddos for us...more on that coming soon!
