Quack, Quack!

We had to check out the ducks at the pond near Mimi and Papa's house! Unfortuantely, the ducks were not nearly as excited about us, as we were about them. My guess is, they had all the stale bread they could handle for one day :)

Mimi and Caroline did their best duck whisperer moves...no luck.

Caroline kept saying, "Duck!! Quack, Quack!! Come here, Duck!"

There was a huge hill, so naturally, we told Caroline to run up and down as fast as she could.

She was super proud of her accomplishment.

"Now its your turn, Mommy!" Ummm, no thanks ;)

We'll try to hit the duck pond in the morning next time ;)

Miles at 10 months...

10 months is frighteningly close to 1 YEAR!?!? Time flew by when Caroline was little, but it's nothing compared to how fast these past 10 months have been with Miles. Whew! I honestly don't know where the time goes. He is becoming such a big boy :)
He is absolutely delightful in every way. Always smiling, always sweet, and just a joy to have in our family!
He still loves to pull up on everything. He is getting brave and will let go sometimes. As soon as he realizes he is standing by himself, he sits down.
Enjoying a little Sunday driving with his sister...

Drinking and driving is never a good idea...especially when you aren't wearing pants...just sayin.

This is his squishy smile. I love how he wrinkles his little nose and squints his eyes :)

It's hard to tell but he is actually getting more and more hair. It's just really light ;)

LOVE :)

Like I said, he gets into everything. He loves to crawl under things and behind things...such a BOY!
Exhibit A: BUSTED! Behind the chair, having a little alone time with Dora

Exhibit B: Under the table, and so proud of himself.

Caroline loves to push him in the swing. He loves it, and squeals with excitement :)
He claps for himself and everyone else whenever possible. He can almost do "so big" but its pretty hit or miss.
He has 7 teeth, and the 8th is just about to poke through. No more baby food...He loves to eat just about everything I put in front of him.
Such a sweet, sweet boy!
UPDATED:

I forgot to add a few things he is doing!
-cruising up and down the furniture and moving from one thing to the next.
-dancing to any and all music or singing. He has rhythm!
-he absolutely loves to be upside down. I have to be careful when holding him, because he will randomly lunge backwards. Then he laughs hysterically .

Caroline at 2 1/2...

This is such a hilarious age. She is really exerting her independence and her STRONG opinions. She makes us laugh daily! And she has definitely figured out how to push my buttons...she looooves to test me ;)

She is crazy about her "gummy gummy bitalins" aka vitamins. It's the first thing she wants in the morning, and she will try to negotiate for more ALL day long.

She loves to do everything that I do. Hair, make up, etc. I tried to tell her not really all that fun to blow dry my hair ;)

There are so many funny things she says and does. I want to remember as much as I can!

She says "lasterday" and "nexttoday" instead of yesterday and tomorrow. Actually, lasterday just means it happened sometime in the past...yesterday, 3 weeks ago, who's counting?

She now refers to her head as "my big ole head" It is large, and it does get stuck in her shirts sometimes...

She rarely (or never) says "I don't know" or "I can't remember." instead, she just makes up a gibberish word the fill in. It's hilarious.

After anything and everything she suggests, she says "That a good idea, mommy? That's a good idea, right?"

She loves to be outside. Swinging and bubbles in the backyard are especially fun right now.

She says chick fil a makes her happy, and she asks to go all the time. When I tell her "no" she says, "mommy, don't say no. Just say yes, Caroline, we can go to chick fil a please."

Tu tus and high heels are a fave.

When we are playing at home, we have a pants optional policy, but panties are still required. However, she prefers to be "lots of naked" whenever possible.

This is a preferred wardrobe choice...when wearing only panties, accessories are still important!

Here she is having what she called a naked party. Complete with confetti and streamers.

Here are a few recent conversations:

Me: you need to be a little quieter.
C: but all I have is louders in my mouth! See? (opens mouth)

C: Mimi, I really love watching my poops come out.

Me: let's go see Jack!
C: which flavor? Jack S. or Jack C.?
(her 2 bff's at school are both Jack)

"Carrots? Oh, I loooooove carrots. They're my faaaaaavorite." (you can substitute carrots with just about any food, drink, color, or activity. Whether she actually likes it or not seems to be irrelevant:))

"My mommy told me________." (again, whether or not it's actually something I said is totally irrelevant...this is going to get me in trouble!!)

"I love you alotta much! Not a little much."

Caroline is the sweetest, smartest, most precious little lady in our lives. We love her alotta much too!!!!!

UPDATED:
I forgot to add a few things she is doing!
-she knows most of the letter sounds
- she can identify "C" consistently and thinks every "C" is "C for Caroline."

Caroline's V-Day Party

Caroline had her Valentine's Party at school today. She has been talking about all week and was really looking forward to giving valentines to all of her friends...and getting "special treats" at the party :)
All dressed up and ready to go!
Thanks, Minnie! I love my super-cute outfit!
Hugging her sweet friend Jack C.

Telling Jack C. to smile and say "Happy Valentine's Day" Isn't he such a doll?

The 3 Amigos...Caroline and her 2 Jacks. Love these boys and their sweet parents :)

Obviously, Caroline loves them, too...

Hi, Jack S.

Wanna hug? (Seriously, look at his expression...sheer terror...priceless!)

Get away from me crazy girl!!!!

We're so proud ;)
Here is a video of the little song they sang for us. You will note that you can hear Caroline LOUD and clear in the beginning. Then she looks around and realizes no one else is really singing. Too funny!

9 Months!

9 months old is one of my favorite stages. It's so much fun to how interactive and full of personality they have become by this age.
Miles is, in my opinion, completely adorable of course :)
He is crawling everywhere, getting into everything, and pulling up on anything he can find.
His new favorite spot in the window by the front door. Doesn't he look so big and grown up????

He is still such a laid back, chill little guy. Always smiling, very mellow, and sweet as can be.

I tried to entice him to crawl down the tunnel, but he was happy just to look at me instead :)

Playing with Daddy, who is, OF COURSE, his favorite person ever. If he hears Jon's voice, he is immediately looking all over til he find him. This game involved Daddy bopping him on the head with the pillow, not my idea of a good time, but M seemed to think it was hysterical.

He has 6 teeth, 4 on bottom, 2 on top. He has been extra drooly again the past couple of days, so I am sure there are more on the way.

He can wave bye bye and can almost clap. He usually slaps his knees instead of clapping his hands, but he was trying to get his hands together today.

He loves to stand up in his crib...Sorry for the blurry cell phone pic, he was jumping.

He sleeps 12-13 hours at night. Goes to bed around 7 and wake up between 7:30 and 8 in the morning. Soooooo awesome!

Also takes 2 naps a day, for 1 1/2-2 hours each.

He has found the stairs, but (luckily) hasn't figured out how to move past the first one ...yet.

His favorite sounds are dadada, mamama, and bababa.

He is a great little eater. We have tried all kinds of table food, but also still eat baby food.

We rarely call him Miles. Caroline calls him bubba and bubber bear. Jon and I usually call him bear or bubba. I don't know why, but he just looks like Bear to me :)

We had a great check up with Dr. G yesterday. We are gong to see a pediatric opthamologist to look at his right eye. The tear duct on that eye is still blocked, which makes it extra teary, and sometimes goopy :( Other than that, he passed with flying colors!
9 month stats:
Weight-22.1 lbs (75%)
Height-28 3/4 in (70%)
Head-75%

NFL Players Party XLV

So, I feel like I should give a little back story just in case anyone who is reading doesn't know the whole story...
Jon signed with the Arizona Cardinals after college. Although is time there was short, he signed an NFL contract. That makes him is officially eligible to join the NFL Players Association. Score!
When they announced the party for this year, we jumped on the chance to go!!
Jon had to go in person to pick up the invitation (where he saw Adiran Peterson picking up his!)
The invitation to the NFL Players Association Party XLV

They did spell his name wrong, but he was just happy to be invited at all ;)
Andrew and Mel were kind enough to chauffeur us to the party. About to leave...

On the red carpet
I was so nervous and excited. I have never really spotted any celebrities in real life before...unless you count the time Gov. Rick Perry sat behind us at church...Or one time when we thought we saw Coach Bobby Knight at the airport. Lame, I know.
The party had a very "Vegas" vibe. Ice sculptures, go go dancers, lounge seating everywhere...
Jon and his buddy Robbin Jones (fellow Baylor Bear!) We also ran into Santana Dotson (for those of you who know BU football)
The entertainment. Trey Songz. Must admit, I had no idea who he was. When we heard he was preforming, we studied up. Turns out he is kinda of a big deal ;)
Close up of Trey. Bottoms up, Bottoms up...throw your hands up...

Surprise guest...Jamie Foxx! He came out and sang "Blame it on the A-A-A-Alcohol." It was pretty awesome...

Close up of Jamie. Pretty sure he was pointing at me, saying "what's up hottie" ;)

Another surprise performance by Nikki Minaj.
Jon with David Spade. He is sooooo little. He is standing on a platform in this pic, so you can't tell, but he is probably about my height...which is SHORT.
We were dancing right next to Emmitt Smith and his wife. They are both absolutely beautiful. Love them. They were dancing and laughing and flirting with each other all night. SO sweet to see them...
We also saw Cam Newton (recent Heisman winner). He had an entourage of about 8 people. Pretty ridiculous considering he is still a college player. No one else had an entourage...

Chad Ochocinco was there. With his finace (who is on VH1's Basketball wives). He seemed shorter than I had imagined.

There were other people there from some of the "Real Housewives" shows, but I don't watch them so I have no idea who they were.

Serena Williams was there, but I couldn't find her anywhere! Believe me I tried!

We also heard that Eva Longoria was there. I looked everywhere and couldn't find her either...turns out it was actually Evan Longoria (3rd baseman for the Tampa Bay Rays). Not nearly as exciting :)

We saw a bunch of other players, but no one else I really knew or recognized. Jon was practically beside himself though.

It was such a fun night!!!! So surreal...I mean, how far from my normal life could one night possibly be???
